In spring 2025, the digital payment system "tap & go" was introduced in South Tyrol's public transport system. Passengers can pay for their tickets direct when boarding using their bank card or smartphone – quick, easy, and contactless. The new service from südtirolmobil is aimed primarily at tourists and occasional travelers without a südtirolmobil pass. The aim was to reach these target groups with an eye-catching message and a clearly structured information campaign. From developing the central idea to designing the user interfaces of the readers and the visual implementation, we supported the communication surrounding the launch. Particular attention was paid to the user experience directly on the device: intuitive icons, clear color coding, and concise feedback ensure that users immediately understand how the payment process works – and feel confident when the green check mark appears. The goal was to convey the benefits in a way that was understandable, appealing, and modern – so that "tap&go" would be perceived as a practical standard right from the start. Short, concise statements support the core message "tap&go" without overshadowing it: NOW active in your urban bus.
