Wipptal-based artist Leander Schwazer has designed an installation for the inner courtyard of the Sterzing Raiffeisenkasse bank. It is a memorial to an accident: after snowfall at night, the roof of the Sterzing ice rink suddenly collapsed on 10 February 2021 without casualties. A few months earlier, Leander Schwazer had returned to Wiesen after half a lifetime in the world. He experienced the collapse as luck in misfortune, which simultaneously released great strength that the artist wanted to make tangible in a sculpture. We have created an exciting portrait of Leander Schwazer as a person and artist and how he works, in which the two renowned art historians, Eva Gratl and Carl Kraus, also have their say. The film premiered on the occasion of his first exhibition in Sterzing.
